<description>Hello and welcome to the newsletter

About two minutes after I pressed 'send' on my last newsletter, two weeks ago, the story broke that Microsoft had offered to buy Yahoo (^ there was no newsletter last week as I was out helping to moderate a conference in Barcelona). Since then very little concrete has happened:
   - Yahoo said no, Google complained, , some people said it was a good idea, some people said it was a bad idea, some people made rude pictures on Flickr, some people said it was all about search, some people said it
was also about display, News Corp got involved, and so on. But nothing all that concrete has happened, and the whole deal has now become mired in argument and counterargument. Which is why I'm not linking to any specific stories on this today - I'm sure you can find your own stories on this one.

Elsewhere we have Gary Stein from Ammo's take on the whole 'Is The Tipping Point Flawed?' debate, Google begin busy again, reasons why people may not be advertising online, the rise of video viewing, and a new social network for foodies.

Enjoy!
