Man Utd & DHL deal demonstrates changing nature of football sponsorship


This week Manchester United have announced the signing of a sponsorship deal with logistics company DHL, which is believed to be worth around £40m over the next 4 seasons. The DHL logo will appear on training kit worn by first team, reserve and youth team players in domestic fixtures. American financial giant Aon, United’s main kit sponsor, is believed to have been fully aware of the negotiations and alongside DHL, Man Utd have also struck commercial deals with Vietnamese telecoms company ‘Beeline’ and Malaysian snack company ‘Mamee Double Decker’. ...
